SMS message list
Why this matters
The SMS Message List is the full record of text messages for a period, in a file you can sort and filter. Use it to confirm whether a particular message was delivered, to answer a query from a client, or to reconcile message volumes against an invoice.

What it contains
One row per message.

| Date | When the message was created in Diarybook |
| Message Ref | Diarybook’s reference for the message |
| Job Ref | The reference of the messaging job the message belongs to |
| From | The sender: a number or sender ID |
| To | The recipient’s number |
| Date Sent | When the message was sent |
| Date Received | When an inbound message arrived. Blank for messages you sent |
| Send Status | Whether the message was sent |
| Delivery Status | What the network reported about delivery |
| Sent By | The user who sent it |
| Gateway | The SMS gateway that handled the message |
| Clinic | The clinic linked to the appointment the message was about |
| Message | The text of the message |
The list includes client replies as well as the messages you sent. Replies are the rows with a Date Received, so filter on that column to separate the two.

What to watch for
Phone numbers keep their leading zero in Excel The From, To and Message columns are written so that Excel opens them as text. If you save the file again from Excel, see Phone Numbers in Excel to stop Excel changing the numbers.
The file contains message text Messages can include client names and appointment details. Store and share the file as you would any other record holding client data.
For a quick check, use the Messaging area To look at a handful of messages, open the Messaging area and select SMS. That list is faster than running a report.
