# Activity log

## Why this matters

Each waiting list entry keeps its own log. The Activity Log brings those logs together across your
lists, so you can see in one place who changed what in the last month. It supports audits, answers
queries about a client's waiting time, and shows how work is spread across the team.

## Options

| Option | Choices |
|---|---|
| Formats | View, CSV, PDF |
| Dates | None to set: the report always covers the last month, from this day last month to the end of today |
| Filters | **Waiting Lists** |
{.table}

The **Users**, **Status**, **Priority** and **Locations** filters are shown but have no effect on
this report.

See [Running Reports](/docs/reporting/running-reports/) for the steps.

## What it contains

The report opens under the title **Waiting List Activity Log**, with the period it covers. One row
per change, newest first:

| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Date | When the change was made |
| List | The waiting list |
| Client | The client's name |
| Changed By | The user who made the change |
| Status Before | The status before the change |
| Status After | The status after the change |
| Details | The reason, evidence or description recorded with the change |
{.table}

Removals are highlighted in amber.

The CSV file has the same columns.

## What to watch for

**The period can't be changed**
Waiting list reports have no date fields, so this report always covers the last month. For an
older change, open the entry and check its **Log**. See
[The audit log](/docs/waiting-lists/status-and-suspensions/#the-audit-log).

**The report includes entries you can't see elsewhere**
This report isn't limited by your appointment permissions. It lists every change on the lists you
choose.
